Why do we need a water filter? Did you know that our tap water can be contaminated with a variety of different chemicals? These chemicals shouldn't be in our water. Amounts of pesticides, medications, herbicides, heavy metals, disinfectants, volatile organic compounds, fluoride, chlorine, ect. All of these chemicals can interrupt our endocrine system as well as our gut health. There is a long list of things that could be found in our tap water depending on where you live. Some of these chemicals are added to our water system to help decrease the amount of bacteria and other organisms that could grow therefore decreasing the likelihood of disease among the community. Pharmaceutical drugs get into our water system through drugs being flushed down the toilet and through human excretion. There has been shown to be traces of antibiotics, antidepressants, steroids, contraceptives, ect.
